Like, seriously, I have seen so many times people posing in a certain hollow cave or this gulf with a staircase below them to the beach. Those are in Nusa Penida!
We changed our tour from snorkeling and beach hopping to just beach hopping at the last minute, 8pm. Thankfully, the operator works around the clock. And we got the car all by ourselves, with no other group joining. The price was tagged at Rp. 850.000,00 per person ( 85 NZD), including the ferry round trip from Sanur Harbor, car with driver and gas included, and 1 lunch.
It was a very very busy, crowds come boarding, next boat unloaded people. And all mostly are not locals!
Yet, according to our driver, it is not the peak busy moment for them. He did not get any tours for almost several days.

During our trip, we had a conversation about Nusa Lembongan (another smaller island next to Nusa Penida, I have not been there yet). Locals used to be seaweed farmers. And that seaweed gave it beauty and attraction. The farmers then turned into guides or worked in hospitality as tourism started to grow more and more. It is easy money with tourism. Like many tour agents, you just sit, people come to you, you forward the tourist, and you get the money. Easy as. But when the seaweed farm started to fade, so did the beauty. Nusa Penida started to shine and take the spotlight.
The road are curvy and narrow, some deep holes, definitely needs some maintenance. One beach to another are between mountains. That is why the journey takes time and a local driver is necessary.

AND....the main prime destination.
After waiting for quite a while, our driver tried to check us in but had problem with connection. And then sea of humans. And steep staircase. Our driver aka guide advised we would walked down a further 10 m to get better less crowded spot to take picture.
The staircases were steep!

This is where we stopped. Crazy traffic. We would wait patiently till the people finished taking some shots.

I got more time to enjoy the view while people "Excuse me" left right back front. The view was so so so stunning. The vivid color, the wave movement. Too bad we did not go down, not enough time. It will take 30 minutes down. Also my friend would suffer a great deal; as many Indonesians living in city, we do not really get used to walk far let alone up and down with steep staircases.
While my friend catching with her breathe and heart rate, thinking the lunch were all gone. I was amused with the presence of the monkeys that are unoticable, if our driver did not mention it. Soon this one on a tree next to Pura (temple) become a target of amateur paparazzi. I had to take it with zoom.

They blended really well.
And off we go to the last beach, not time to waste. We went to Angel Billabong first, click click click. Walked to Broken Beach. Another stunning view but again I could not walk around to cross the beach. We had to rush to catch the ferry it would be along queueu if not.
